SubAir Sport Operation
(for additional detailed product illustrations click here)
The SubAir Sports Field System is typically housed in a room inside the stadium and is custom designed to fit the dimensions of the room. The above ground air handling equipment includes the Field Aeration Fan, Air Flow Reversing Valve, and Intake and Exhaust Louvers. These components are skid mounted.
The SubAir system attaches to a drainage network located beneath the playing surface and utilizes the drainage network as a medium to inject air or remove moisture from the soil profile.
There is a local control panel assembly at the equipment location. These controls include all motor controls, manual operation controls, pump controls, and fault illuminations. The SubAir Sport system is also equipped with an AirWave wireless monitoring and control system.
The main drain isolation valve is an automated valve that isolates the field drainage network and forces all of the air through the soil profile. Two dewatering pumps are mounted inside and controlled via a lead/lag pump controller and a series of
float switches. The pumps are engaged when the SubAir System is running and are used to discharge field drainage around the isolation valve while it is closed during
SubAir operation.
